Just popped back in to the wiki. On day 3 of ignoring the game my wife asked me if I missed it. I said no, but upon reflection, I realized that the anxiety I had been experiencing over the last two days of work wasn't related to work, but I felt like I was being irresponsible by not farming for CPs and collecting from Allies. Not to mention the first time in a year that I missed a day of PvP. My wife was trying to compare this to Candy Crush, but it was hard to explain to her that Candy Crush is still the same when you come back to it, where M:AA gets away from you. @Skeetabyte you nailed it. Rats in a maze, chasing a symbolic representation of cheese.

Saying goodbye

I didn't know where to put this as I've never blogged, but admins feel free to move or delete it as you see fit. After over a year of playing this game I've decided that it was just requiring too much of my time, so I'm hanging up my trenchcoat. I guess you could say I became addicted, to the point where it was interfering with my work, and even where I would get anxious if I missed my 5 PvP wins in a given day. I want to thank all of the mods, admins and members on this wiki for being helpful while I was playing.

I don't know, is there a soultion to his stupid Amber Alert? He seems to be casting it at will and then I can't cause any damage at all. Sorry for derailing the thread, I'll make a new one if that's preferable.

@TRH I think your grapes are sour. I've really only been seeing him in at most 1/3 of my PvP battles. right now at level 290 I've been seeing Elektra, Rogue, Phoenix, Rescue and Shadowcat as often as anyone. Emma finally seems to be falling out, as are Ares, Daimon, War Machine and Cyke.

I have to agree with PKB, both from PDs point of view, and my own. The preponderance of Ares in PvP was a bit ridiculous. The ideal meta would see a plethora of different characters on every team, all with different strengths and weaknesses. How cool would it be to see a bleed team go against Thing and Luke Cage? But it will never happen because there is no balance and those heroes are simply not viable in PvP.

PKB: It's definitely the competition. I probably do 10-15 fights/day. My usual schedule is something like this: first thing in the morning I've fallen into high silver. I win 5 in a row or 5 of 6 and get into middle gold and collect my roulette. Then I usually get to about high gold or possibly middle diamond and I start going about 50/50 on offense and usually about 0-10 on defense. I fall back to gold, hover at about 50% on def, and wake up again high silver or low gold. I know some part of it is that I play high volume PvP and PvE and that I'm probably levels ahead of most people with the same number of heroes as me. I've been assuming that I'm doomed to rot in gold until I get to 300 and can re-iso all my heroes and farm until I get the remaining 8 or 10 heroes.

I'm in almost the exact same boat. I have almost all heroes, a full armory at a decent level for a non wallet warrior, and I put some effort into strategy and whatnot, but I just can not get over that hump. Since the revamp last season I'm actually able to get about 50% out of my AFK team, but I always get caught on the thrshold of Diamond, and end up dead middle of gold.

@Tartiflouze: PD has given us a one-time free "unsocket all" items allowing us to re-distribute our resources for the new system. This is also good in case you accidentally socketed some gear that you want back, although you'll have to re-forge as it will come out at the minimum level. Regarding strategy, I balance my offensive team and slightly skew AFK to defense. I make do with what I have available because I refuse to spend gold on armory items. However PvP roulettes and upgraded gear have given me a pretty good bonus. (After I research an upgrade I socket the orginal, like the Attilan Cudgel and Attilan Mace.)

I'm with the majority of the group which hates this, but whatever. I thought the Attilan set was OP at forst, but players developed strategies to circumvent it, so I don't get that nerf. I really don't get the Vigilante Toolkit. I feel like this was the only thing giving newer players a chance.

I know this is a total statistical anomaly and I almost don't want to mention it, but since I got Loki I've been opening the boxes one at a time, and so far I've gotten three different covers from eight total boxes.

Yeah, I actually was able to combine two or three of the cube missions with the S2C2 missions, and a few others with the Moon Knight missions. it just takes a little planning to get certain tasks to align.
