The updates just keep on coming!
False, good sir. I cropped it down to eliminate the gray padding and "close" tap icon, but I got that from the Android app. I'll post the uncropped version later tonight when I get to a full computer (on my phone right now).
Anyway, I see no extra bonus gold in my account.
I did not get 10k gold, but for the sake of posterity, I will contribute this.
Enjoy your next 16 days until oblivion.
I must be getting better at lockboxes. She cost less than Magneto!
Well, today is the last day of PvP, and despite there being barely any appreciable player base left, somehow the servers are still in full meltdown mode. Forget even being able to start a fight - I'm consistently crashing when I hit the button to enter the PvP screen.
I just got to level 300 (sick brag), so I bought and equipped Thanaphage. Bleeding in PvP has been reduced in power in PvP because everyone is rocking Mystic, and the Sabertooth Claws don't pack much of a punch otherwise. So, that is what it replaced for me. So far, it seems okay. It is really just one more way to prevent a Phoenix Fire.
If anybody pulls me in PvP, please let us know how the AI uses it.
Well, it is activity at least. Not really of any value to me, but maybe to others? I'll edit this post to include a screenshot when I get to a computer.
Any chance Thanaphage could be what finally replaces Sabertooths Claws?
When little, he missed like crazy, and his L9 is really handy. I've got him to 11 so far. I'm rolling him out in PvP to get the 3 bonus xp fights a day (it advances the progress bar for me twice after each fight for some reason - another issue to complain more in detail about in another thread), and much to my surprise, he's actually good enough to be a permanent fixture. I have no idea if the AI uses him right, but getting an extra turn when the shield goes away makes him a walking Quantum Jumper breaker. If you can get just one turn with him to get that damn shield up, you can break out of the "turn of death" where the other guy gets 3 turns, then QJ's two more to kill you before you can start.
He's a bit of a pain to level - he doesn't pack that much of a punch, and doesn't resist death too easy. But to be fair, I'm making that assessment with him being the first non-level 12 hero in ages. Leveling him is at least something to do. With the PvP on (which is bugged for me, but I haven't gotten around to making a post here about it yet), I'm motivated to finally get to 300 not only to make things easier in the PvP, but to also get the gear at a maxed out level. Getting Mags to 12 will also of course help with his Tact bonus (he doesn't have a change of clothes available, let alone a re-classing set of threads).
It's a nonstop barrage of new(ish) content!
I don't want another special op until we can delete allies, thank you.
Me too. Took me about 150 gold as well, with the exact same results. Early data seems to indicate that it is rigged (can't say I'm shocked).
Wow, this is for real. Check it out, straight from the Play Store listing...
Marvel: Avengers Alliance - Android 3.2.0 Update • Lockboxes are here! Collect comic book covers from lockboxes to unlock new playable characters! • Unlock Magneto from Lockboxes! • Chapter 8 “Dark Rites” is now available!
So, WTF are these lockbox things? How do we get 'em? How do we use 'em? How to most efficiently farm them? Is Magneto any good? How to best equip him?
Lets gather all the answers to the above questions, along with any additional relevant questions here! We have something to talk about again! Hooray!
I don't get what you mean by "cw" here.
You can't mean CW, as in the network doing the Flarrowverse shows. I know you know the difference between Marvel and DC. And I can't for the life of me figure out what else it could stand for.
You're the first here to say you made Adamantium, and I'm curious to hear from you. Specifically:
Sorry to jump all over you here, but curiosity is winning out over tact.
Also, Infinity War is already set to be broken into two movies. You can fit more folks into 5 hours than 2.5.
There is no analog on Android to the "mouse over" event. Closest we have is "long press", which usually translates to "secondary click", and I did confirm that input doesn't do anything in this app.
UPDATE: For fun, I checked the developer docs, and sure enough there is an onFocusChange() event that exists. It requires hardware, and hardly anyone ever uses anything but their finger on an Android device - especially when playing a dumb video game. Now I wanna go buy something just to test and see if these clowns just blindly ported the FB "mouse over" event to Android onFocusChange(). That would show a total lack of understanding of the Android platform, as well as prove they don't dogfood their own work.
We don't have any multifunction gear as far as I know. If we do, I don't have it and/or am not aware of it.
Yeah, probably. Thanks for the feedback though - at least now I know it's not something dumb I'm doing.
I think there's a potential problem in the new Empowered Armor. For anybody that doesn't have it, let me explain in layman's terms what it does: The "Recharge" button now has a little purple Infiltrator boot, and using it costs a tiny bit of Stamina instead of restoring any (but grants you Combat Reflexes). It is a Quick Action, so I get to the recharge, then do something else. However, using it locks it out for 2 rounds.
I feel like this can lead to a few different scenarios that were not possible before, and I'm curious if anyone knows what would happen.
A scenario now exists where your agent is too low on Stamina to do anything, and the Recharge button is locked out. In PvE you can get around this by using an inventory item, but what about PvP? What happens when you can literally take no action on your turn? Does it auto-skip? Sit there waiting for you to take an action you can never take? Crash?
Similarly, you could get to the same state through not a lack of Stamina, but having all 4 slots as well as now the Recharge locked out. Again, you can work around this in PvE, but what happens in PvP?
This isn't just theoretical - I intentionally forced the issue in PvE to see what would happen, and it does force you to burn an inventory item to move on from that turn.
I assume this outfit is old hat to the FB guys, so I'd be interested in anything any of you may have to add, as well as any Android folk that have forced this scenario in a PvP practice.
New thread to get away from the "matchup algorithm sucks" and "crash losses suck" talk that dominated the other thread while the PvP was ongoing.
Here, we can talk about...
How did you guys fare? Anybody figure out a build that results in non-crash AFK wins? Will any of the new gear make it into your next PvP build?
I had my DVR pull it in with the intention of trying to turn my kids onto it, but haven't got to it yet.
In general, I find (even Disneyified) Marvel cartoons are more palatable to have on in the background than other stuff (i.e. I rue the day I saw Rescue Bots on Netflix and said "hey, they made a little kid friendlier version of Transformers, lets try that!" Spoiler alert: kids love it, I can't stand it).
You think it is acceptable for 3-5 year olds?
