Mission 1

Mission Start

Tony Stark:

This is for all the marbles, Agent. We've got all eight Worthy tearing up New York City, and the Serpent himself waiting for the right moment to show up and call out Odin once and for all.

Maria Hill:

It's chaos out there. The Serpent's got good people terrorized and bad people feelink like they can do anything they want because it's the end of the world.

Agent Coulson:

We're the only ones who can put a stop to this. Project Mighty has given us the weapons.

Tony Stark:

Now it's up to us to use them.

Maria Hill:

But the weapons alone aren't going to win this battle. The only chance we're going to have is an appeal to whatever humanity might be left in the Worthy. So we're going to confront them with people they've loved...or at least been close to.

Agent Coulson:

It's not going to be easy for the people we've chosen. Be ready to step in and support them.

Mini-Boss - Nerkkod

Maria Hill:

We have eyes on Mockingbird. Or Nerkkod.

Hawkeye:

Mockingbird. It's still Bobbi.

Tony Stark:

You sure you're ready for this, Clint?

Hawkeye:

Don't think I have a choice, do I? I'll handle it.

Maria Hill:

But you got through to her. We could see it.

Hawkeye:

I'm not so sure.

Maria Hill:

You did. Ten minutes ago she was tearing down buildings. Now she's gone. You did that.

Hawkeye:

Yeah. Maybe. Hope it was enough.

Boss - Skirn

Maria Hill:

Skirn is looking for something here. We've just put two and two together, Agent. The Worthy are looking for the Mighty weapons. They've shown up in spots where those weapons recently were. That makes it all more important to stick together. Even if we're not winning a battle, we need to get out of it without losing those weapons. Hellcat, you're up.

Hellcat:

Jeez, lawyers. When they let their hair down, they go all the way.

Hellcat:

Jen, I know I keep telling you to lighten up, but I didn't mean turn yourself into a hammer-wielding hell monster.

There is no Jen. I am Skirn.

Skirn:

Hellcat:

No, you're not. I know you better than that. I can still see Jen.

Maria Hill:

I think it's working. We've seen personal responses from both Worthy. And they've both broken off their rampages after seeing people they care about. Get back to the Helicarrier, Hellcat. You do look a little worse for wear.

Hellcat:

Usually when I feel like this, it's because Jen and I had too much fun.

Mission Complete

Tony Stark:

The combination of Mighty weapons and plucking at the heartstrings of the Worthy opponents seems to be working.

Maria Hill:

For the first two, anyway. And they have still have their hammers. We haven't won anything yet.

Tony Stark:

We will. Count on it.

Maria Hill:

The Worthy hunt continues. We've located more of them near Avengers Mansion.

Tony Stark:

Why does everyone want to wreck my house? Let's go.

Mission 2

Mission Start

Agent Coulson:

We've chosen the best people to take on each of the rest of the Worthy. You know who you are. Stay ready. We don't know who we're going to find. Also remember we need to keep a sharp eye out of Cul Borson. The minute he appears, we're going to answer with every Mighty weapon we've forged.

Thor (Jane Foster):

When Cul appears, we will know. He will not be subtle.

Agent Coulson:

Ideally we will have encountered all of the Worthy before then. Or at least as many as possible. The more we can confront them with their humanity, the better chance we have.

Mini-Boss - Kuurth

Maria Hill:

Spider-Woman is in pursuit of one of the Mighty weapons here. We're drawing her along, but the sooner we spring our trap, the better. Wasp. Are you ready?

Wasp:

As soon as I pick up the right shoes...just kidding! I'm on my way.

Kuurth:

Wasp:

No. Kuurth is some kind of ancient evil Asgardian spirit. I'm talking to my friend Jessica Drew. You know me. I can see it.

You think you know someone, and then they go and get possessed by a hammer. Where did she go?

She's running. I think she knew me, but that didn't stop her from trying to smear me all over the pavement. I don't think we're winning too many Worthy hearts and minds.

Tony Stark:

Disagree, Jan. I think this is going just about as well as it could. We're breaking the Worthy hold on our friends, a little at a time.

Wasp:

A very little.

Tony Stark:

Don't do that. Hang in there. If we don't believe in this, who will?

Mini-Boss - Nul

Agent Coulson:

There's Cage.

Maria Hill:

And there's Jessica Jones. She must have been tracking him.

Tony Stark:

Putting those PI skills to good use. Now we'll see if love really does conquer all.

Luke. Stop. This isn't you doing this. You can fight it.

Maria Hill:

Easy, Jessica. We know this is hard. There's no other way.

Maybe not, but you tell Tony Stark he can shove his advice.

Boss - Angrir

Tony Stark:

There's Daimon Hellstrom. Which one is he again?

Agent Coulson:

Breaker of Souls. Angrir.

Tony Stark:

I can never keep them straight.

Satana:

That's my cue.

You're going to have a hard time breaking my soul, Daimon.

That's right. Sister. And you're my brother, and you're not going to hurt me.

I think this might have backfired. He's angrier at me than he would have been at someone else.

That wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Maria Hill:

This strategy is working. All we need to do is make them hesitate, and the power of the Serpent's fear starts to crack.

Satana:

Really? You think so? You haven't been outside the Helicarrier much lately. It's hell out here, or close to it. And I would know.

Maria Hill:

It would be worse otherwise. If we weren't doing this, Cul would already be controlling the world...and Odin would be marching.

Mission Complete

Tony Stark:

You're looking Mighty, Agent. There's a little more hope in the world than there was.

Agent Coulson:

But we've got more Worthy out there still, and Cul is going to make his move soon. He sees us starting to fight back, and he's going to know that if people start believing we might win, he will get weaker.

Maria Hill:

So he'll need to strike sooner than later. We're not done yet.

Tony Stark:

No, we sure aren't. We keep them out of the mansion, but now they're going after Avengers Tower.

Agent Coulson:

You'd think they would leave it alone, since it's already wrecked.

Maria Hill:

Cul is making a point. He wants the final showdown to happen there. He wants the world to see the Avengers go down against the backdrop of the ruined tower.

Tony Stark:

But we're not going to let that happen, are we? No, we are damn well not.

Mission 3

Mission Start

Tony Stark:

It won't be long before we see the Serpent. Can't be. We're having too much success against the Worthy. Thanks in large part of the Agent and Project Mighty.

Agent Coulson:

Are we? None of them dropped their hammers.

Tony Stark:

We've gone head-to-head with five of them, and haven't seen any of those five since. I'd call that a win.

Maria Hill:

Unless they're all waiting to show up with Cul.

Tony Stark:

Do you have to be such a downer? I'm trying to be optimistic here.

Maria Hill:

Let's track down the last three Worthy before Cul can rally them together. And before Odin loses his patience.

Mini-Boss - Mokk

Tony Stark:

Paging Dr. Hussain? Dr. Faiza Hussain?

Maria Hill:

Excalibur, we're calling your number. We've made visual contact with the Black Knight.

Faiza Hussain:

Then let us see if Excalibur can strike some sense back into him.

Tony Stark:

I really want to make a Hippocratic Oath joke, but it feels inappropriate.

Dane is still Mokk. I couldn't bring him back.

For a minute there, I thought he was going to drop his hammer.

Faiza Hussain:

Maybe he wanted to. Maybe he can't. Maybe none of them can.

Maria Hill:

Until we defeat the Serpent, you mean?

Tony Stark:

That's another maybe. We'll keep going after them, and keep getting Mighty weapons into the field, and we'll find out.

Mini-Boss - Greithoth

Dr. Strange:

I have sensed Ghost Rider -- in his aspect as Greithoth -- throughout the city, and now I will confront him.

Maria Hill:

Understood, Dr. Strange. We located him as well, and we'll try to keep the area clear.

Tony Stark:

Better be a big area. Those chains are pretty long.

Start

Dr. Strange:

Hold, creature! Are you Ghost Rider or Greithoth? Name yourself.

GREITHOTH, BREAKER OF WILLS.

Greithoth:

Dr. Strange:

So you call yourself. But you face no ordinary will. You face the will of Stephen Strange! I know you, Ghost Rider. We've fought together through hells and nether dimensions. I name you John Blaze. And I tell you by the Vishanti, you shall not break my will. You will drop that hammer first, and be free.

I SEE THROUGH YOU. ALREADY YOU BEGIN TO CRACK.

Greithoth:

Dr. Strange:

My will is not broken...but it is certainly bruised.

Dr. Strange:

He is gone. Still he wields the hammer, but he has withdrawn.

Tony Stark:

I'm starting to feel like we're going to see the Serpent any minute. Are we ready?

Agent Coulson:

How do you know if you're ready to face something like the Serpent?

Thor (Jane Foster):

We are ready.

Thor:

You stand bravely against the Worthy. We will do the same against Cul himself.

Mini-Boss - Skadi

Tony Stark:

Cap, we've got visual on Skadi. You sure you want to do this? I mean, it's not like she has a real attachment to you.

Captain America:

She doesn't have any real attachments to anyone, Tony. So if we can't work on love, maybe we can exploit hate.

Tony Stark:

That's as good as any other idea we've come up with. Agent, stay close to Cap there, and be Mighty if he needs you.

Rogers...

Skadi:

Captain America:

That's right, Sin. Or whatever you're calling yourself. You have a hammer, I have a shield. You've got all the power of the Worthy on your side. But you know what I have? Something to fight for. I'll fight you. I'll fight all eight of you if I have to. I'll take on the Serpent himself. But you are not going to rule this city while I'm still breathing.

Then die.

Skadi:

Captain America:

I'm alright. I can do this all day.

Tony Stark:

All right, Cap. I love the visual there. It was like you were taking on the Worthy and the Red Skull at the same time. People will love seeing that.

Captain America:

It won't mean anything if we don't take the Serpent down.

Boss - Cul Borson

Now the time has come. There is no fear like the fear that follows after false hope. You have stood against the Worthy, but only so that you may fall before me!

Cul Borson:

Tony Stark:

Well. There he is.

Maria Hill:

All field assets, the Serpent is out in the open. Thor will engage. Stand by at the scene to assist.

Thor:

It is my fate to battle him...and perhaps my fate to die.

Thor (Jane Foster):

Perhaps, but you will not face him alone.

Tony Stark:

Okay. Both Thors. Good enough. Go get him, Thors. We'll keep a perimeter in case the Worthy come back.

Thor:

Cul Borson! We have defeated your Worthy.

They have served their purpose, Odinson. They prepared the way. Now I walk the path.

Cul Borson:

Thor (Jane Foster):

Only to your end, Serpent. I have seen it. I have seen how it will come to pass.

You have seen one future, pretender. You cling to it like a child to a fairy tale. I alone know your doom.

Cul Borson:

Thor (Jane Foster):

Then show it to me, if you can!

In-Fight

Odinson. And you, pretender. Have you come here for a hero's death? Only death will you find. For you do not yet understand fear... HERE IS ITS TRUE FORM. I AM FEAR ITSELF.

Cul Borson:

Thor:

And you face my true form, as a son of Asgard! I do not fear you, Uncle.

Thor (Jane Foster):

Cul Borson:

Thor:

Aaaarggghh!

Maria Hill:

Agent Coulson:

So is Thor. One of them, anyway. Status report. Thor?

Thor (Jane Foster):

The Odinson is fallen. And I...

Agent Coulson:

Hang in there. Help is on the way.

Thor (Jane Foster):

My wounds are grave. Cul...we have struck him down.

Agent Coulson:

You're going to be okay. Keep talking.

Thor (Jane Foster):

I knew, Coulson. This was the only way. Midgard is saved...Odin is coming.

Maria Hill:

Oh God.

Agent Coulson:

We've got no life readings from the scene at all.

Maria Hill:

We've lost both Thors.

Epic Boss - Odin

Reveal

Odin:

My son...My son...

Tony Stark:

Now you're worried about him? Now? Where was this before, when you cut us off and let the Worthy stomp our cities into rubble?

Odin:

You see only these cities. You do not see the choices one such as I must make. But despite your insolence, you have an earned an explanation. I had the Realms to think of, Stark. Cul turned Midgard into an infection that threatened all the realms. Better to destroy it than Cul gain power from it and use that power to destroy the other Realms.

Tony Stark:

And you couldn't have helped instead?

Odin:

No. The risk to Asgard was too great. Had Asgard struck at Cul, and suffered defeat...no. I gave you mortals a chance. You fought bravely. And now you must face one final challenge.

Tony Stark:

What?

What you call Incursions also threaten the Realms. You have passed a test of arms against Cul. Now you must pass another...against me. If you defeat me, Midgard survives, for you will have proved yourselves Worthy of the chance to solve the problem of Incursions. If not...the Armies of Asgard...will march.

Odin:

Tony Stark:

Sonofa... You just watched your son die, and now you're telling us that he sacrificed himself for nothing?

He is not dead the way a mortal would be. Nor is the other. What you see is called the Odinsleep. No man nor god may know how long it will last before their wounds are healed. No. His sacrifice has earned you the chance to survive this final challenge. There is no other way. Choose the strongest among you, and prepare yourselves.

Odin:

So. These are the heroes you choose.

Odin:

Tony Stark:

Yup.

Then let the challenge commence, and the victor be justly crowned.

Odin:

I take no pleasure in this...but Midgard must not endanger all the Realms. We march.

Odin:

Tony Stark:

I'm calling it. We won. That's it. Mortals won. Midgard won. You take your army and get the hell out of here.

Very well, Stark. You fought with great pride. I remove the barrier...but if you cannot control Incursions, this will not be the last time we take up arms against each other.

Odin:

Tony Stark:

Whatever, tough guy. We'll work out our own problems. Can someone give me a ride to the Hellicarrier? I think my suit's too busted up to fly.

Mission Complete

Captain America:

You sure get a big mouth when you talk to gods.

Tony Stark:

Bravado's the only language they listen to, Cap. Plus I'm good at it.

Maria Hill:

You think we can solve the Incursion problem?

Tony Stark:

Yeah, I do. Especially now that Odin has dropped the barrier. Now we can work in space again, maybe get a little extra outside brainpower... And you saw those hammers shooting off into the sky, right? We need to get search teams out to bring in our formerly Worthy friends.

Agent Coulson:

We're already looking.

Maria Hill:

Odin took Thor and Jane Foster with him. Hard to believe they're really gone.

Captain America:

Both of them? She really was Thor, then.

Maria Hill:

She sure fought like him. Even though she was a mortal to start with.

Tony Stark:

That's why she fought so hard. That's the thing gods never understand. Us mortals, we look out for each other. We have to. We're little. Squishy. Reliant on our brains. And that's why we know how to stick together. So yeah, we'll solve the Incursion problem. You can bank on it. Let's get started.
