Spec Op 24: Land of Fire and Ice[]

Asgard's most dangerous foes are on the warpath in Midgard. Thor has mysteriously disappeared, leaving a void amongst the Avengers that must be filled. Many have asked, "Who is worthy of such a great challenge?" Beta Ray Bill has arrived to push back these ancient forces and help discover what end his Oath-Brother has met.

Spec Op 24 Reward Hero: Beta Ray Bill[]

Bio – The Korbinites were attacked by Surtur's demons and forced to flee their world. Enhanced to become their cyborg champion and protector, Beta Ray Bill encountered Thor and proved himself an equal and worthy of Mjolnir. Granted the mighty uru hammer Stormbreaker by Odin himself, Beta Ray Bill comes to the aid of all those in need without a moment's hesitation.

Class: Bruiser/Blaster

  • Passive: Korbinite Guardian
    • Protects allies that are low on health from single-target attacks
    • Takes less damage from enemy attacks
    • Stamina is restored every round
  • Passive: Path of Might
    • Counts as both a Blaster and Bruiser, gaining the advantages and disadvantages of both
  • Passive: Riders on the Storm
    • Provides Amped Up to all allies, increasing damage on attacks and providing a chance to evade enemy attacks
    • Removed after applying Amped Up

Action 1: Stormbreaker

  • Unlocked at Level 1
  • One Enemy
    • Crackle
      • Chance to trigger an electric shock after performing a hostile action
      • Removes 1 stack of Crackle when triggered
      • This effect can be applied 3 times
  • Self
    • Covered
      • Taking 50% damage from all attacks

Action 2: Thunderstruck

  • Unlocked at Level 2
  • Targets One Enemy
  • Type: Range, Electricity
  • One Enemy
    • Cornered
      • Removes and prevents Protect effects
  • Self
    • Breakthrough
      • The next attack that hits is guaranteed to be a critical hit

Action 3: I SAY THEE NAY!

  • Unlocked at Level 6
  • Targets All Enemies
  • 2 Round Cooldown
  • Type: Range, Electricity, Energy
  • Special Properties
    • Catastrophic
      • Can't be Protected against
      • Ignores most Avoidance effects
      • Guaranteed to hit
  • All Enemies
    • Static Charge
      • Nearby electric attacks may chain to this target, causing extra damage
    • Ozone
      • Taking additional damage from Electricity attacks and effects
  • Self
    • Electric Field
      • Shield effect absorbs incoming damage
      • Deals Electricity damage to melee attackers

Action 4: Ride the Lightning

  • Unlocked at Level 9
  • Targets One Enemy
  • 3 Round Cooldown
  • Type: Melee, Electricity
  • Special Properties
    • Deadly Crits
      • Deals extra damage on critical hits
    • Exploit Flying
      • Deals extra damage against Flying targets
    • Shocking
      • Deals extra damage against targets with Crackle, Ozone, and Static Charge

New Lockbox Hero: Enchantress[]

An embodiment of feminine perfection, Amora the Enchantress learned the ways of magic through seduction and force. Hopelessly smitten with Thor, Amora has tried for millennia to seduce him and embroil him in her plots to take over Odin's throne. Failing, she turned against humanity believing Thor's love for Midgard, and perhaps Lady Sif, to be responsible for him spurning her affections. With the conflict with the Worthy and the Serpent escalating, she now sees an opportunity to prove herself as Thor's equal and worthy of his devotion.

Class: Infiltrator

  • Passive: Asgardian
    • Immune to Burning, Chilled, Poison, and Radiation
  • Passive: Sowing Discord
    • Gains Magic Missile Charge when an enemy attacks anyone on the enemy team
    • Gains Magic Missile Charge at the beginning of every turn

      • Taking additional damage from Magic attacks and effects

      • Held in the grasp of Enchantress' magic
      • Chance to lose a turn
      • Removed when damage is taken
    • Mind Control
      • 50% chance to protect enemies from allies' attacks
      • Removed after triggering
      • Psychic effect

Action 3: Alluring Voice

  • Unlocked at Level 6
  • Targets One Enemy
  • 1 Round Cooldown
  • Type: Debuff, Magic
  • Special Properties
    • Quick Action
      • Grants an immediate free turn after using
      • Does not trigger most follow-up attacks
    • Subtle
      • Does not trigger most status effects
  • One Enemy
    • Disoriented
      • Single-target attacks have a chance of hitting an ally
    • Smitten
      • 20% chance to cower and fail an attack
      • Counter-attacks allies who are Charmed

Action 4: Emerald Wave

  • Unlocked at Level 9
  • Targets All Enemies
  • 2 Round Cooldown
  • Type: Ranged, Magic
  • Special Properties
    • Ethereal Strike
      • Ignores Avoidance and Incorporeal effects
    • Exploit Attrition
      • Deals extra damage against targets with Bleeding, Burning, Chilled, Dark Void, Iso-8 Corruption, Poisoned, or Radiation Exposure
    • Exploits Delirium
      • Deals extra damage against targets with Disoriented, Mind Control, and Possessed

Loki Refactor[]

As usual, there's always more to Loki than it seems.

Class: Tactician

  • Passive
    • Lie-Smith
      • Chance to create illusions, avoiding attacks and then countering them, applying Bane

Action 1: Throwing Dagger

  • Unlocked at level 1
  • Targets One Enemy
  • Type: Ranged, Magic, Ice
  • Special Properties
  • Multiaction
    • Can be used to perform three different actions
  • One Enemy
    • Applies one of three debuffs:
      • Deathfrost
        • Taking Magic damage and losing Stamina every turn
        • Evasion lowered
        • Counts as Chilled for actions that affect Chilled targets
      • Soulfire
        • Taking Magic damage every turn
        • Removes beneficial statuses when applied
        • Counts as Burning for actions that affect Burning targets
      • Dark Void
        • Taking Magic damage every turn
        • Accuracy reduced

Action 2: Fog of Chaos

  • Unlocked at Level 2
  • Targets One Enemy
  • 2 Round Cooldown
  • Type: Ranged, Magic
  • Special Properties
    • Quickaction
      • Grants an immediate free turn after using
      • Does not trigger follow-up attacks

    • Cursed Mirror
      • The next two attacks heal the target instead of harming
    • Mind Games
      • Chance to cause damage and debuffs before performing the next action

Action 3: Trickster Seal

  • Unlocked at Level 6
  • Targets All Enemies
  • Type: Ranged, Magic, Debuff
  • 2 Round Cooldown
  • Starts With Cooldown
  • Special Properties
    • Quick Action
      • Grants an immediate free turn after using
      • Does not trigger follow-up attacks
    • Subtle
      • Does not trigger most status effects
  • All Enemies
    • Trickster
      • Many beneficial status effects are replaced with their opposite
      • Healing actions damage their targets instead
      • Creates a negative effect according to the class of the target

Action 4: Hall of Mirrors

  • Unlocked at Level 9
  • Targets All Enemies
  • Type: Ranged, Magic
  • 3 Round Cooldown
  • Special Properties
    • Quick Action
      • Grants an immediate free turn after using
      • Does not trigger follow-up attacks
  • All Enemies
    • Disoriented
      • Single-target attacks have a chance of hitting allies
      • Removed after attacking an ally
  • Self
    • Runic Reflection
      • Increases the chance for Lie-Smith to occur
      • Lie-Smith counters gain Exploit Attrition

New Group Boss: Surtur[]

The oldest being in all the realms, Surtur is the Lord of Muspelheim and Odin's eternal rival. Wielding the Twilight Sword, Surtur seeks to destroy all the realms in fire, leaving nothing but the ashes of creation behind.

New Villain: Hela[]

While Loki is responsible for her "birth," there is no love between the god of mischief and the goddess of death. In fact, Hela cares not for her fellow gods and only wishes to rule over all the nine realms.

New Villain: Ymir[]

Ymir is the progenitor of the Jotuns of Niffleheim. He considers all life, save for his kin, to be abominations that must be destroyed.

Known Issues[]

Loki's Trickster Seal[]

Trickster status is not currently affecting character self heals. Healing others results in damage being dealt, but healing oneself still heals the character. This affects powers and items like Iron Fist's Healing Chi and Nano-nurse.
