Collect Magnetic Lockboxes to unlock Magneto
Magnetic Lockboxes were introduced with Special Operations - Cry Havok. They are used to recruit Magneto by collecting Comic Book Covers and completing the Magnetic Collection.
- Lockboxes are rewards for completing the tasks in Master of Magnetism, as part of the Special Operations tasks. The number of lockboxes as a reward varies.
- Lockboxes can be obtained from deploys and boss roulettes within Special Operations - Cry Havok.
- Lockboxes can be obtained from specific Hero deploys within Special Operations - Ghost in the Machine.
- Lockboxes were purchasable in the store at a cost of 1 , even after the end of Special Operations - Cry Havok.
- Lockboxes can be opened individually at a 7% chance of obtaining a Comic Book Cover. 10 lockboxes can be opened together for a 100% chance of obtaining a comic book cover.
- Magnetic Lockboxes are no longer available for purchase, but can still be opened.

The Side Task's Name is Master of Magnetism. These Tasks can only be done during the events of Special Operations - Cry Havok.
- It is inadvisable to skip any of these Tasks, as players will not receive any Magnetic Lockboxes for skipping.

- Defeat 10 Hellfire Club Soldiers
- REWARD: 8 Lockboxes
- Hellfire Club soldiers are the best mercenaries that money can buy. They can be found in Mission 1.
- Requires 15 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 8 Magnetic Lockbox
2. Brotherhood Hunt
Master of Magnetism - 2 of 6
- Defeat 5 Mutants
- REWARD: 8 Lockboxes
- Toad, Blob, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Dragoness, Mystique, and the Living Pharaoh are all mutants.
- Requires 15 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 8 Magnetic Lockbox
3. End of the Pharaoh
Master of Magnetism - 3 of 6
- Defeat the Living Pharaoh
- REWARD: 16 Lockboxes
- The Living Pharaoh is the Epic Boss of Mission 2. HINT: Participate in Deploys as soon as they appear.
- Requires 30 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 16 Magnetic Lockbox
4. Bot Buster
Master of Magnetism - 4 of 6
- Defeat 15 Sentinels
- REWARD: 8 Lockboxes
- Sentinels are built for destroying mutants. They can be found in Mission 2: Brotherhood In Arms.
- Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 8 Magnetic Lockbox
5. Green and Mean
Master of Magnetism - 5 of 6
- Defeat Green Goblin
- REWARD: 16 Lockboxes
- Green Goblin is the Epic Boss in Mission 3. HINT: Participate in Deploys as soon as they appear.
- Requires 40 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 16 Magnetic Lockbox
6. Completionist
Master of Magnetism - 6 of 6
- Complete 4 Stars of Mastery in all Spec Ops 6 Missions
- REWARD: 32 Lockboxes
- Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
- Requires 50 Gold to Auto-Finish
- Reward: 32 Magnetic Lockbox
