Peter Quill. But he likes it when you call him Star-Lord. He's one of us.

Star-Lord:

Nick, the whole quadrant knows what went down between you guys and the Black Order. Nebula here is looking to avenge Thanos' death--assuming that he's dead--by killing Thane and settling the score. Oh, did I mention she might be Thanos' granddaughter? We have unfinished business with Nebula after she and Ronan attacked Xandar. We're going to do our Guardian thing, but it'd make things easier if the Avengers are on board too.

Rocket Raccoon:

Star-Lord's been keeping tabs on the situation, because Nebula's got Thanos' Black Order involved.

Your previous resistance to the Black Order has earned a small amount of respect among those who wish to destroy you. Present Thane to me now and you will save a great many lives. He has killed his father and must answer for it.

Nebula:

I'm going to tell you exactly what I told Corvus Glaive when he showed up offering the same deal: Go to hell.

I was hoping you'd say that. I would much prefer to hunt him down myself... but in the spirit of the Tribute, I thought I would ask you to submit first. To the hunt, then!

She's gone. Agent, we're moving Thane to a S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house. While we do that, we need to keep Nebula away from him.

Just like the first time she was here with Thanos. The Circle of 8 must be an easy target for her. Which reminds me, Star-Lord, you're going to want to be careful with her telepathic abilities.

Star-Lord:

You mean I can't just punch and zap?

Tony Stark:

Well, you can, sure. But she'll be eroding your psyche while you do it.

Star-Lord:

I've had my psyche eroded before. It's not as bad as it sounds. There are workarounds.

Agent Coulson:

Also--if we may be serious for a moment--it appears she has taken control of Black Bolt's mind. You might well find yourself fighting him before you can get to her.

Whoa. All of a sudden this doesn't seem like quite as much fun.

So. You guys are pretty glad we're here, right? Otherwise... I mean, don't take this the wrong way, but we all saw that mess last time Thanos and his gang stopped by.

Nick Fury:

Did you find Nebula?

Star-Lord:

Were we supposed to be looking for her? I thought you were doing that. I was kind of tied up with Supergiant.

Rocket Raccoon:

And the whole demon thing.

Nick Fury:

Priority one, as of now, is to locate Nebula and ensure she does not find Thane. We've got him in Avengers Mansion now. I don't want to move him again.

Tony Stark:

I'll add a priority 1A. Stay on Supergiant's tail. The more we harass her, the harder we make it for her to get her hooks into another one of our allies. It might also help with the Circle of 8 problem.

Nick Fury:

Agreed. So there's 1 and 1A. Plenty to do. Let's get to it.

We moved Thane just in time. Ronan the Accuser just hit the S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house where we had him before.

Agent Coulson:

Ronan? Wasn't he on our side? He was helping counter Incursions down in the Savage Land.

Maria Hill:

Well, now he's hunting with Nebula. And we might know why... Tony?

Tony Stark:

Word from S.W.O.R.D. is that Ronan is no longer an Accuser.

Nick Fury:

Break that down for the Agent.

Tony Stark:

The Accusers are the Kree's version of traveling military judges. Ronan was the Supreme Accuser until just the other day. Could be the Kree removed him because he's pitched in to help against Incursions. You know, instead of just accusing everyone all the time.

Maria Hill:

He still thinks of himself as an Accuser, though, and that's why he's working with Nebula. Both of them consider Thane guilty of killing Thanos. In Nebula's case, at least, the thirst for revenge is understandable. After all, she is his granddaughter.

Nick Fury:

Is Thanos dead?

Tony Stark:

Hard to tell. After our last fight with the Black Order, we found Thanos imprisoned in a block of amber, courtesy of Thane. Nobody seems to be able to break it, so maybe from the Kree point of view that's pretty much the same thing as killing Thanos.

Maria Hill:

Nebula is active with two members of the Black Order we've seen before: Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight. They're all hunting Thane.

Nick Fury:

I don't want the Black Order anywhere near Thane. Agent, stick with the Guardians and help them against Nebula.

Reed Richards has prepared a safe area for Thane in the Baxter Building in the event that we can't get Thane to Avengers Tower. Richards wants us to help shore up the perimeter first.

Reed, is it possible we can use the Baxter Building as a safe house for Thane if the Avengers Mansion location is compromised?

Mr. Fantastic:

Possible, yes. But the street outside of the Baxter Building is already filling with Circle of 8. Let me see if there's a way to get Thane in without drawing their attention.

I don't think it's a good idea. Ronan is watching, the Black Order is also keeping an eye on us, and there's no way to move a human being in without being observed.

Maria Hill:

Then we stick with the original plan. Keep Thane in Avengers Mansion as long as we can.

Good thing we got Thane out of Avengers Mansion when we did. The Circle of 8 is swarming that area now.

Maria Hill:

Ronan is hot on Thane's trail. We don't know where Nebula is, but the whole Black Order is out with Ronan, protecting his flanks while he continues the search.

Agent Coulson:

If they don't already know that Thane's moving to Avengers Tower, then it sure seems that they're starting to suspect it.

Star-Lord:

We'll get out there and handle it.

Maria Hill:

Agent, you'll be with the Guardians coordinating the defensive effort with S.H.I.E.L.D. assets.

Thane:

I don't need S.H.I.E.L.D.'s protection. The Black Order still wants me destroyed by the will of my father, but I will not run like a child. Let me face them on my own and end this!

Nick Fury:

After what happened when you fought Thanos and the Black Order, we need you to stand down. Your powers are too unstable to rely on, and keeping you hidden is a necessary precaution. And in any event, operational details aren't up to you. Let's keep the focus on the mission.

Your granddad is stuck like a big ugly bug in space amber, and you're uptight about it. I would be too. But you can't go around killing people. Go find some inner peace or something.

Uh oh. With the Black Order keeping us busy we've been neglecting the Skadi situation. She must be checking in on the Circle of 8. If our suspicions prove true that Supergiant has been controlling the believers, then Skadi's gotta be miffed that the rain of hammers has stopped.

Maria Hill:
