It's a lot of noise and distraction covering for the Executioner. I saw him emerge from a portal soon after the Wrecking Crew's attacks began.

Tony Stark:

Ah. That makes a little more sense.

Enchantress:

Poor Skurge. He is driven beyond reason by jealousy. He wished me to fight with him in this battle to come, and I refused him.

Shanna:

The Enchantress--!

Enchantress:

Stay your hand, mortal. I am here in peace. What does it benefit me if Midgard burns and the Odinson dies protecting it? I will offer what assistance I may.

Beta Ray Bill:

If he is a fool, Amora, you have made him so. It is his jealousy over you that brings him to destroy this world.

Nick Fury:

Tony Stark:

You've never met Beta Ray Bill, Nick? He's... well, I don't know what he is. What are you, Bill?

I am the last survivor of a world destroyed by Surtur. I wield Stormbreaker, a hammer given to me by Odin himself... and like Amora, though purer of will, I am here to battle the enemies of Asgard and Earth.

Enchantress:

Let's not cast aspersions, now. You will find me a quite useful ally, I think.

Maria Hill:

We'll see. Bill, did you say Surtur? The fire demon?

Beta Ray Bill:

Yes. The Executioner works on his behalf of the burning devil. If you have not seen him yet, you will soon.

That does seem the most likely situation. Perhaps we can still stop it. I have destroyed this charm but there's no way to know whether its magic has already been discharged.

Agent Coulson:

Maybe Skurge will have some information about that. He'll tell you, Amora.

Enchantress:

Dear Philip, you think too much of Skurge. If he has grown angry at me, his conversation will likely be limited to grunts and roars.

I don't see any fire demons.

Nor do I. Shanna has broken up the rocks inscribed with the Wrecking Crew's runes. Perhaps we have interrupted the enchantment in time.

Enchantress:

Or perhaps we do not yet understand how the enchantment was supposed to work. If Surtur wishes to find a way to this realm, he will.

Tony Stark:

Agent Coulson:

We could use a little help from Asgard. Anyone seen Thor? Or Odin, even?

Maria Hill:

They might be fighting a battle somewhere else. But you're right, it would be good to have them around.

Only that Surtur will not be the only presence we encounter from the other realms. Every power in the Nine Realms will wish to plunder Midgard before the Worthy destroy it... or someone else does.

Tony Stark:

Someone else? Now's not the time to be a tease, sweetheart. Out with it.

Enchantress:

If the leaders of the Realms see Midgard defenseless... there will be no shortage of threats.

Tony Stark:

Midgard's not defenseless. Not by a long shot.

We saw them in Wakanda recently looking for a way to tap into the powers of the Worthy. Is that why they're here now?

Tony Stark:

No, they're here because this is where the action is. Every ruler of every realm is looking to settle scores with Asgard, and with Thor gone we're on our own.

Maria Hill:

When you say every ruler... I don't follow. Surtur's the only new threat we've seen.

Tony Stark:

I think we're about to see another. Field teams are reporting Dark Elves and Jotun patrolling together. That speaks to an alliance between Svartalfheim and Jotunheim. And who's in charge of Jotunheim?

Loki:

Ymir. A pitiless and deadly warrior. He was an ally of my... of Laufey.

Maria Hill:

Ah. So this is getting personal.

A combined force of Jotun and Dark Elves is attacking a holding facility where we're researching Iso-Saurs. Captain Marvel is closest. Get her there before those Iso-Saurs get loose.

Carol, we're sending you coordinates of a research lab where we've got about fifty Iso-Saurs penned up. It's under attack. Keep those Iso-Saurs locked up.

It will take only a moment, but I won't go until someone is in position to stand guard.

Surtur and Ymir both have their reasons to hate Asgard... but they have not the strength to overcome us. They have reached out to another, who controls a numberless legion, and who loves war as we love life, for it supplies her with endless souls.

Fandral:

Agent Coulson? Volstagg and Hogun and I were clearing out the last of the elves, and--

Volstagg:

Get to the point, you blabbering dandy!

Hogun:

The dead are rising.

There's an undead army rising, Surtur's still spreading fire, and field reports indicate Ymir and the Jotun are back on the march.

Heimdall:

They do not rise from this soil. They use it only, as passage from Hel to this realm. The mistress of Hel and Niflheim raises her own armies. It was always she we were destined to face. Ymir and Surtur march with her. The promise of Midgard's spoils brings them together despite their hatred of each other.

Tony Stark:

Fire, ice, and death. That's some trifecta of primal forces arrayed against us.

Shanna:

We can handle it.

Agent Coulson:

Of course we can.

Beta Ray Bill:

I get Surtur.

Now that we know this is an alliance among multiple realms, we need Heimdall to put his sight to work and see if there are any other parties that we don't know about yet.

We know we're facing an alliance of Hel, Muspelheim and Jotunheim. What we don't know is who else is involved. Can you take a look at the other realms and see who else might be stirring?

I can help. If there's one thing that you can always find in a jungle canopy, it's birds.

Agent Coulson:

Terrific idea, Falcon. We'll have a fire team ready to go once you nail down the target location.

One of our scout teams crashed their Quinjet and needs extraction before Iso-Saurs make them lunch. The ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing is the pilot for this job.

Ben, we've got a scout team crashed in a deep ravine. They're surrounded by Iso-Saurs and they need extraction right away. You're our guy with the kind of piloting skills to get a Quinjet down into that ravine and back out.

Thing:

Aw, it's nice to be thought of once in a while.

There was a significant battle here between Hauk'ka and some of Hela's undead. The Hauk'ka are inclined to feast on the fallen. Send a hero to convince them that's a bad idea.

The Hauk'ka have helped us out by massacring a bunch of Hela's zombie Vikings. But now they want to eat them. That's probably not a good idea. Someone kindly get there and convince them of that.

Excellent. We'll have to conduct sweeps to be sure, but it looks like the combined armies of Muspelheim, Jotunheim, and Hel weren't quite enough to handle Asgard's finest.

Fandral:

With an assist from Korbin's finest. Beta Ray Bill, once again you have proven yourself worthy of Odin's regard.

Beta Ray Bill:

I am not done yet.

Heimdall:

We have beaten back this threat, but others will come. The powers of the Nine Realms know that Midgard trembles on the brink of annihilation.

Tony Stark:

From the Worthy? We'll get a handle on that.

Heimdall:

Not just the Worthy, no. But what the other peril is... that I cannot yet see.

Maria Hill:

Let's hope it doesn't escalate into a full-blown war among the Nine Realms. There won't be much left of Earth if that happens.
