We've got a situation with an Iso-8 research project. Tony Stark isn't S.H.I.E.L.D.'s only tech researcher--

Tony Stark:

Although I should be. Monopolies are good when I'm in charge of them.

Maria Hill:

We also work with Simon Williams, better known as Wonder Man, who is a pretty sharp tech guy in his own right. HYDRA has been trying to infiltrate and take over the munitions company Simon inherited from his father. Someone called the Grim Reaper is leading HYDRA's operation. We don't know the whole story, but last night there was an explosion at Wonder Man's headquarters.

Nick Fury:

Now the whole place is swarming with HYDRA, and the results of his Iso-8 project are in danger of falling into their hands.

Tony Stark:

I don't think we need to elaborate on how that's an undesirable outcome.

Nick Fury:

Vision has worked with Williams, and knows his way around the company HQ. He'll be on standby to extract Williams once we've cleared HYDRA from the building.

Maria Hill:

The project had progressed far enough to have created an Iso-9 variant. The explosion scattered it all over the West Side.

Nick Fury:

Recover what you can, but the primary objectives here are to get Wonder Man safely to the Helicarrier and clear any HYDRA presence you find.

We've got support teams surrounding all of your company's facilities in the area. Don't try to do it all yourself.

It's my problem. I'm going to solve it.

Make it snappy, Vision. HYDRA has a long-term habit of putting Simon in a coma to run experiments on him.

We've just intercepted a HYDRA transmission: Baron Zemo is gearing up for a strike at the Helicarrier. Defensive measures deploying now, but let's hit him before he gets here.

Tony Stark:

HYDRA sure does love them some Wonder Man. It's a little stalker-y, you know?

Maria Hill:

Wonder Man is stabilizing, but we need to get him to a full facility. Also he's a security risk on the Helicarrier.

Tony Stark:

Security risk?

Maria Hill:

We can't afford to be sentimental, Tony. We don't know what he was doing in that lab, and I for one am very curious about how HYDRA timed its arrival so well.

Vision:

I will fight in his stead. When he is well, I do not doubt that he will prove himself to you again.

Tony Stark:

What's with the sudden sentimentality?

Vision:

Simon Williams was the model used to complete my neural matrix. It is difficult to articulate the nature of the relationship.

Tony Stark:

No need. This one's yours, Vision.

When we deployed on this mission, I thought Wonder Man might be dead and HYDRA had all of his tech and experimental results.

Instead, Wonder Man is comatose, HYDRA has at least some of his tech and experimental results, and there's Iso-8 scattered from here to Midtown.

Maria Hill:

So, bad.

Nick Fury:

Let's get recovery teams out to sweep for the Iso-8. And we need Wonder Man in a secure medical facility.

Beast:

Maybe now is the time to use our Bellevue hideaway. It's secure and nobody knows about it.

Nick Fury:

Good. Get Wonder Man over there and let's try to keep it quiet that he's... indisposed.

Group Boss - Red Skull

Maria Hill:

Agent, the Red Skull is using the Cosmic Cube to mount surprise attacks!

Tony Stark:

I can't stress enough how dire this is, Agent. If the Skull has this level of control over the cube, he is limited only by his imagination. Literally.

Captain America:

Don't put anything past him. If it's devious, cruel, and underhanded, he's thought of it already.

Tony Stark:

We've locked down his location... at least for now.

Maria Hill:

Hit him before he starts moving again!

Thanks to the Cosmic Cube, it seems like the Red Skull is everywhere at the same damn time.

Tony Stark:

Sure makes it easy for him to keep an eye on HYDRA... and also to get out of tight spots.

Mission 2

Maria Hill:

We've placed Wonder Man into a protected ward in Bellevue so S.H.I.E.L.D. medical personnel can check him out and get him shipshape again.

Tony Stark:

Only problem is, the Maggia found out about it. Either they've got someone on the inside here, or we weren't careful enough during transport. Or the bad guys have ways of keeping an eye on things that we don't know about.

Nick Fury:

Whatever. The real problem is that the Maggia's making a hard move to break into Bellevue and kidnap Wonder Man. Tigra, we're calling your number for this one. Give the Maggia a little cat-scratch fever, and see who's behind the kidnap operation.

Tigra:

I'll keep him safe. Don't you worry. Just make sure your doctors put him right again.

Maria Hill:

They're the best. They will... if we give them enough time.

HYDRA has amassed forces all over the area surrounding Avengers Tower. We've had sightings of both Viper and Baron Zemo. Possibly Strucker as well.

Tony Stark:

On top of that, we can confirm that Wonder Man's brother Eric Williams has... had some work done, as they say. He's the one calling himself Grim Reaper, and he has a bone to pick with his brother.

Wonder Man:

This is my fight. I'm ready to go.

Beast:

Far be it from me to question such a heroic declaration, but you were out cold less than five minutes ago, Simon. Are you sure you're ready?

Wonder Man:

HYDRA hit my company and blew up my building, and my brother is involved. I wouldn't recommend trying to stop me.

Nick Fury:

We'd better keep an eye out for the Red Skull.

Tony Stark:

I'm not so sure of that, Nick. Wonder Man was Zemo's brainchild from the beginning. Red Skull won't jump in and take over until Zemo proves incompetent, or Wonder Man goes back to HYDRA and Schmidt can take the credit.

Wonder Man:

If the Red Skull shows up, I'll take him on, too. But right now, and until my brother shows his face, we'll settle for Viper.

We're not going to be done until we can confront the Grim Reaper. I'm thinking more and more that HYDRA's whole objective was to clear the way for him to take on Wonder Man.

Tony Stark:

Disagree. From here it looks like they got wind of Simon's Iso-8 project and wanted its results for themselves. Grim Reaper's just a happy extra for them.

Wonder Man:

Either way, if he's around we can't let him go. He's my brother. I'll see if I can bring him in.

Iso-8 recovery efforts are underway and making good progress. Also we're getting good intel from HYDRA prisoners. They're going to be sorry they started this particular fight.

Nick Fury:

We're getting a head start on cleanup work back at your HQ, Wonder Man. You might want to be on-scene to oversee it.

Wonder Man:
